Soros’ conductor mobilizes the world press in hours

In the earlier parts of our series we introduced Gerald Knaus, the backdoor lobby network he runs, and we proved this with financial documents. Next, we revealed the various methods employed to vilify Viktor Orbán. In this current article we detail the inner workings of Knaus’ network.

The European Stability Initiative (ESI), backed by George Soros and lead by Gerald Knaus, did not hold back at all during the coronavirus; in April 2020 they waged fresh attacks on Hungary. This time, they took issue with the “oppression of the opposition” and that Hungary received too much money from the EU.

The number of mentions in the press clearly proves that the George Soros network can, within just a few days, flood half the world’s media—barely an exaggeration—with their allegations.

Meanwhile, Knaus turned his Twitter page into a battlefield, posting dozens of times in 2020 April about how much EU money Hungary will be receiving during the pandemic.

It is important to acknowledge that this social media platform is not commonly used in Hungary, however, it is one of, if not the, main forum for European decision-makers and liberal-globalist journalists.

Knaus topped off his “cut funds from Hungary” campaign with his thoughts in the liberal magazine, Der Spiegel; a magazine mind you, that a few years ago was embroiled in a fake news scandal and that has lost a significant number of subscribers in the past years. The ESI director also considered it important to “enlighten” some of his friends with his writing, among whom notably the Soros-organization, ECFR, was tagged. He not only tagged the Berlin office, but the Head of the Office, Jana Puglierin herself. This instance isn’t unique: on April 18, 2020, Knaus again recommended the Soros-backed ECFR Berlin office in his Spiegel article. An informant familiar with these practices likened it to when a lobbyist submits a receipt of their client’s public representation.

REPORT TO SOROS’ “FOREIGN AFFAIRS” INSTITUTE

Strangely enough, on April 2nd this past year, Knaus shared his joy in an online post celebrating the various liberal-right-wing parties that requested the expulsion of Fidesz from the European People’s Party (so-called “true Europeans”)—and he tagged the ECFR Berlin Office here too. A similar instance occurred earlier on March 30th. According to our Fidesz source, the correlation between Knaus’ pursuits in expelling the Hungarian governing party from the EPP along with Herman van Rompuy and Donald Tusk’s actions was not necessarily a coincidence.

Knaus frequently publicly boasts that he consults with European leaders.

We recently found out that aside from Tusk, Commission President Von der Leyen, Greek Prime Minister Micotakisz, and Jean-Claude Juncker also appeared on the list of leaders to be persuaded.

In the end, Tusk became the strongest advocate for the ESI communication strategy of branding the Hungarian government as far-right.

Earlier the V4NA news agency meticulously documented how the Soros-network maintains close ties with a number of CDU politicians, including members of Angela Merkel’s government. Knaus appeared at last year’s Christian Democrats and Christian Socialists conferences, not as a Soros lobbyist, but as an “expert” This role somewhat helped to obscure the fact that he’s actually the pushy leader of an enormous lobbying organization.

TELLING CLUES

The most inconceivable notion regarding the previously mentioned ECFR tags is that, as the name suggests, the institution seeks to influence EU foreign relations. So, then what does this institution have to do with EU internal affairs and why would they need to know about anti-Orbán posts? Simply put, this can be explained by the fact that Knaus is also a member with two other Soros agents. One of the two is Alexander Soros who maintains an active relationship with the network’s other Austrian leader, and according to our sources, he even demands certain expectations from his supporters. We’ve found that two hundred thousand euros have been allotted to the institute as an emergency fund due to the intensified work.

Knaus’ Twitter activity morphed into maniacal and constant attacks on Hungary by April 2020.

It became comical at a point how many times Knaus repeated himself.

THE HUNGARIAN CONNECTION APPEARS

Another interesting revelation from Knaus was his Hungarian connections which include: András Léderer, former SZDSZ (Alliance of Free Democrats, a liberal political party no longer in existence) youth leader who now works for the Soros-NGO Helsinki Committee, Márta Pardavi, co-chair of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee, and Tóth-Czifra Andrást. The latter, as chronicled in his own Twitter bio is a “So-called Russia watcher”, in the US… Léderer’s appearance is interesting because an open letter signed by 73 European individuals concerned about the coronavirus and the Hungarian government’s “emergency” status, is tied to László Andor, the former EU Commissioner, but written with the support of ESI. His brother, Sándor Léderer, who was convicted for sawing the Regnum Marianum cross, also signed the document concerned for the Hungarian rule of law. The contents of the letter fit into Knaus’ far-right label of Orbán and consequently appeared in 19 papers on the continent at once.
