PM Orban’s Early Christmas Message Lights Up Social Media + Video

Prime Minister Viktor Orban shared a holiday message on his social media page, releasing a video in which he emphasized that Hungary remains a safe country where citizens and the nation’s borders are firmly protected. He also underscored that dealing with migration comes with enormous costs, and despite the European Union’s punitive measures, Hungary’s border defense will remain a top priority.

The Prime Minister’s message also serves as a reminder of the substantial burden Hungary shoulders to keep illegal migrants outside its borders and to guarantee the security of its citizens.

The government notes that over the past decade, the cost of border protection has reached 800 billion forints (over €2 billion)—spent on securing both Hungary’s and the EU’s external borders, and on curbing organized crime and illegal migration. Despite the penalties imposed by Brussels, PM Orban says Hungary will continue strict border enforcement, because it remains the cornerstone of public safety.
