Bulcsú Remenyik, member of the presidium of the local Hungarian Socialist Party, geography teacher in Komló (near Pécs) called one of his students a turd because of his right-wing family background as the student’s stepfather is the leader of the local Fidesz organization. The teacher used abusive language which was partly recorded by the students on mobile phone. The headmaster of the school said the conversation in a geography lesson had started as an ’innocent’ one but he found the behaviour of the teacher unacceptable and he initiated a disciplinary procedure against the teacher who would not teach the class anymore. ’A teacher should not forget his manners and he should respect his students in all situations’, he said.
