COSTLY RECONCILIATION OF INTERESTS

While the government keeps speaking about the necessity of a cheap state, the Ministry of Labour and Employment Policy gives HUF 120 million to operate the committees of reconciliation of interests.

There are thirty trade committees where employers and employees are represented, there are twelve coordinators and committee chairmen paid from public funds. The Ministry rents a house for the committees with fifteen offices and three conference rooms. The ministry claims this facilitates a system necessary for the government and the social partners to reconciliate interests effectively.
