The decision of the Minister of Agriculture to cut funds for regional development may result in a coalition crisis. According to the informations of Magyar Nemzet the Free Democrats protest against Imre Németh’s plan and they want a reconciliation of interests in the coalition. The Free Democrat-led Ministry of Environmental Protection also opposes the plan and it has been received with reservation in Brussels. The Minister of Agriculture said the plan to cut back by 20 pc the funds of the national regional development plan separated for three years had been approved of by a monitoring committee though it is said the majority was reached by the votes of the employees of the Ministry.
