HUNGARIAN PRESS AGENCY: BUDGET REDUCTION

The head of the Hungarian Press Agency (MTI) has ordered his colleagues not to communicate in any way the fact that the government takes away HUF 150 million from the state owned press agency. Mátyás Vince did this in spite of his lawful responibility to inform the public. The law about MTI prescribes that this information should be factual, quick, creditable, objective, and balanced. László Domokos MP, deputy chairman of the budget committee confirmed that the withdrawal had been a motion made by the government parties.
