MEAT CONTAMINATED BY GERMAN FISH MEAL

The Ministry of Agriculture issued a warning that they found a forbidden antibiotic ingredient called chloranphenicol in geese and duck distributed by Hungerit Poultry and Food Industry Company.

The contamination had been caused by fish meal mixed into the fodder.The fish meal was a German product imported by sealed camions from Germany and the official descriptions did not contain reference to the dangerous ingredient. The contaminated meat has been withdrawn and the German authorities have been informed about the case. Hungerit Company based in Szentes processes almost 41 thousand tons of poultry annually and half of it is exported to 35 countries.
