The governing committee of the Alliance of Free Democrats will discuss today the affairs of Ferenc Wekler’s lands, initiated by the deputy Speaker himself. The politician wishes to give an account of the investments of his family members and point out that opposition MPs have also received state subsidies. Fidesz wants to initiate a procedure of incompatibility against the politician of the Free Democrats with the committee of immunity. Magyar Nemzet has published a series of fact-finding articles about Mr Wekler’s strange transactions. Mr Wekler wants to point out that Ervin Demeter MP (Fidesz), László Mádi MP’s wife, Sándor Font MP (MDF) have received similar state subsidies from 1998 for their vine-lands. The governing committee of the Free Democrats is expected to deal with Mayor Demszky’s recent scandals and with the ’cocoa-safe’ computers bought by the Ministry of Informatics. Mr Demeter and Mr Font have refused Ferenc Wekler’s accusations saying he wanted to discredit other politicians just to lessen his crime.
