According to the informations of Magyar Nemzet Gábor Demszky, Mayor of Budapest is going to visit Moscow to talk about a Russian participation in building the fourth underground line in Budapest. The Free Democrat Mayor visits Moscow invited by his Russian colleague, Yury Luzhkov. The Russians are strongly lobbying to take part in the HUF 300 billion worth investment. Back in 1996 it was decided the Russians would not finance the metro line as part of the Russian state debt to Hungary, according to Mayor Demszky because Russia could not produce an international bank guarantee though Aboimov, then Russian ambassador in Budapest refuted this.
