REFERENDUM ON TWO ISSUES

According to the ruling of the Constitutional Court a referendum may be held on Hungarian citizenship of Hungarians beyond the border.

It is possible that the referendum can coincide with another one on the privatization of hospitals. The issue of dual citizenship has been in the focus of debates for one and a half year. Now the Constitutional Court has dismissed the motions to cancel the referendum. President Mádl has 15 days to assign the date of referendum within 90 days. The referendum has been initiated by the World Union of Hungarians.
