2005 BUDGET OF LAGGING BEHIND

In the budget debate Premier Gyurcsány called it an irresponsible policy that the opposition was urging the increase of expenditure and the reduction of deficit at the same time. The Prime Minister said the direction of the budget was clear.

Mihály Varga, leader of the economic cabinet of Fidesz, former Minister of Finance said that most of the election promises of the Socialists would not be fulfilled in the present government cycle as taxes were increased and in most of the fields the budget was that of the expenditure of lagging behind. Fidesz will submit in its motions all the election promises of the Socialists to modify the budget bill and they will put forward motions to redistribute HUF 313 billion in the bill.
