The government wishes to prolong the Iraqi mission at least with a month but it is possible that Hungary would stay with his contingent in Iraq until next March, this is the essence of Premier Gyurcsány’s announcement yesterday. Fidesz is still supporting the original position that all soldiers should be withdrawn until the end of this year but the Prime Minister mentioned January 31 as the end of local elections in Iraq and March 31 as the final date of withdrawal. He spoke about it yesterday on Heroes’ Square where there was a celebration on the occasion that the last regular soldier left the army.
