SILENT AUTHORITIES

Yesterday the press official of the Budapest Police Headquarters could not answer the question of Magyar Nemzet if the police had started an investigation in the case of Miklós Paizs who comitted deliberately the crime of libel and incitement.

As it is well known, the member of the staff of Tilos Rádió called on skinning former Premier Orbán alive, disemboweling Isván Lovas, journalist, and on kicking the journalists of Magyar Nemzet in the head in a programme of Budapest Rádió. The official of the Prosecutor’s Office in Budapest has not been available. Miklós Paizs in his message sent to Magyar Nemzet has recognized he had deliberately lied, libelled, and incited.

Barnabás Futó lawyer said there is the suspicion of breaching the peace on two counts as this was a typical hate speech against a part of the community, i.e. against the right wing but Mr Paizs has also disturbed the peace by verbal insults and violence. Miklós Paizs has incited to kill several people, including Viktor Orbán, László Kövér, István Csurka, and László Grespik. Tibor Szegő, programme director of Budapest Rádió said it was just a piece of artistic expression and it was up to the listeners to judge it while Annamária Szalai, member of the Broadcasting Authority has proposed in a motion to discuss this case urgently.
