The programme called The Great Book follows the licence of a BBC series in which the guests take part in a quiz to select the best Hungarian book with the help of the viewers. Zoltán Rudi, president of MTV public television has confirmed this information but he said the programme was not a reality show as it would primarily serve the popularization of reading good books. Pál Sipos, editor-in-chief also said it was rather an educational programme in which famous people will talk and discuss novels while viewers can vote on internet or by telephone.
At the same time the regional magazine features will be reduced and unified: from this Friday there will be only one national magazine programme in the public television. The Metropolitan Assembly is not satisfied with this decision because the regional programme for Budapest has served so far as a means of distributing political messages, too.
