The document in the possession of Magyar Nemzet finds connection between the crime and the political fight within the party and in the county, waged for the seats of MP in the 2006 elections. The letter was written at the end of last year, the scandalous situation is evaluated from the point of view of the county chairman. It is described how events followed one another to result in several party leaders suspected of forgery. Csaba Tóth wanted to confirm and increase the local party membership but his work was impeded by the local Socialist organization in Szombathely led by György Ipkovics, Mayor of the town and György Horváth, municipal party chief.
Bálint Szabó, local youth organization leader had sued roma leaders for libel who claimed Csaba Tóth bought them to join the party. Before the trial Bálint Szabó was brutally assaulted and raped but a campaign of terror led by Mayor Ipkovich went on later, too. In the forgery case several local Socialist leaders are affected, among them former MP János Zuschlag, Bálint Szabó, Péter Táncsics, and Csaba Tóth himself whose indictment is expected for today. In the light of this it is not understandable why István Hiller, chairman of the Hungarian Socialist Party said on Monday that their session did not discuss the case of the Vas County Youth Organization of the Hungarian Socialist Party.
