Though Premier Gyurcsány in last September called it a false alarm that blocked budget sums would be withdrawn for good it has turned out that the Ministry of Finance has taken away the sequestered sums without any recompensation. HUF 166,6 billion was blocked and most of this sum has been withdrawn from state institutions. The financial manoeuvre was necessary to facelift the budget though the European Union will estimate the Hungarian budget balance only in March.
