People who get medicines free from the Public Health Care will get medicines only up to HUF 12 000 for a month but the majority of patients will be allotted only a much lower sum in their electronic, virtual budget. According to the bill prepared by the Ministry of Health this sum would be enough for the cheapest products. Now there are about 600 000 certificates allowing their owners for getting certain medicines free of charge.
There are disabled people among them and persons whose monthly income is too low. The patients so far could get their medicines not only free but in unlimited quantity which has led to abuses. The chairperson of the Hungarian Chamber of Pharmacists does not welcome the plan and she has doubts about the operation of the computer system registering the patients and their electronic budget while family doctors criticize the plan saying the cheapest products will not serve the recovery of patients.
