János Fenyő was shot in the street by an unknown person on February 11, 1998. The unedited version of the film was confiscated by the police in May. The film is about Tamás Perczel, psychologist whose statements about his friend are used by the police. The psychologist (who died since) in the film gives a list of Fenyő’s possible enemies. The professor was heard by the police five days after the murder but he answered just the usual questions while his statements made in the film reveal much more. High ranking police officials claim the assassin or assassins were foreigners who could leave Hungary because leading politicians stopped the investigation. This was the time when Gyula Horn, addressing Gábor Kuncze, then Minister of the Interior, bitterly said: ’There is no public security in this country.’
