PLAN OF V.I.P. COURT

According to a new plan of the Ministry of Justice certain significant cases will be tried by special courts, amending the code of procedure though the plan has been criticized as an elitist conception which is anti-constitutional.

Lawsuits about properties over HUF half a billion, about international banking and insurance liabilities over HUF 50 million, and about firms suspected of concealed payment of dividends would be tried by V.I.P. courts. In the special cases a council of three judges would rule and the stamp duties of the general 6 pc would be in force over the present limit of HUF 900 000, too.
