TETRA TENDER WITHOUT REAL COMPETITION?

It seems the government was mistaken when it decided to accept the bid of the servicing company instead of the supplier to build out the integrated digital radio communication system.

During the talks of the public acquisition tender it turned out that all the servicing companies would employ Nokia as subcontractor so they can spend several ten billions of forints from the taxpayers’ money without a real competition. This new commucation system will replace the outmoded system of several authorities, the transformation of the system will take about ten years and it will cost about 20-50 billion forints. The so-called Tetra system is bug-proof and can be used by several thousand subscribers. Its significance is in its undisturbed operation which makes telecommunication safe in the case of major disasters, too.
