Gyula Horn said Ms Göncz did not express the opinion of the Hungarian Socialist Party concerning the financing of social Church institutions. Péter Harrach, former Minister of Social Affairs said Mr Horn was able to rise above ideological points of view while István Nyakó, spokesman of the Hungarian Socialist Party said to Magyar Nemzet his party would support the public service of the churches and all the disputed problems would be discussed by the joint commission established after the Vatican Treaty concluded in 1997.
