A 69 years old woman in Somogy county has been infected by the virus Hepatitis C causing grave liver disease. After an accident the woman was treated in a hospital where she received blood infusion. Experts claim in principle there is only a slight chance to be infected like this. The lawyer of the woman, Csilla Radovics said she did not know yet whom they would sue, this will be decided only after the investigations.
All the blood donors are examined before giving blood and officials claim the test used in Hungary is used in 95 pc of the developed countries. Hepatitis C spreads by the blood and by sexual intercourse and in can be treated but if it is not diagnosed in time it can cause cirrhosis or cancer of the liver.
