The Ministry of Defence buys an ice-cream machine for nearly HUF 10 million for fighter pilots. István Bocskai, spokesman of the ministry announced this last week. The machine will serve pilots stationed in Kecskemét and the purchase is explained by the regulations that extra sweets are prescribed for people who are employed in dangerous jobs. István Bocskai said with the help of the machine the portions would be cheaper than those bought in confectioner’s shops.
Experts claim that an ice-cream machine of this price is able to produce 150 kg of icecream in an hour i.e. 3700 portions. Magyar Nemzet reported on Saturday that the Ministry of Defence spent more than HUF 4.5 million for sunbeds in its holiday resorts.
