The parts found anti-constitutional in the bill of higher education have been radically revised. Originally they wanted to create a university council with full powers but the new version of the bill speaks only about a preparatory power, the members of the council would not be paid and the majority of the members would be delegated by the universities. Magyar Nemzet has received the news from informed sources that even the educational organizations were suprised at the compliance of the Ministry of Education as the new version bears almost no resemblance to the original bill. The Constitutional Court annulled in October the bill accepted in May, mainly on the ground that it would have violated the rights of autonomy of institutions of higher education.
