Viktor Orbán, chairman of Fidesz said to Info Radio they intended to cut household electricity bills by ten pc from March 1, 2006. He said a new solution should be found without causing any harm to market interests, granting a decent profit. Viktor Orbán will meet leaders of the electricity producers on Thursday to consult the issue. The European Union does not favour the present Hungarian conditions which provides a fixed profit for electricity companies, i.e. the state subsidizes the extraprofit of private companies. Viktor Orbán has offered a partnership in this case for the government. He added Fidesz did not consider setting up a shadow cabinet as he intended to have people work and not compete for positions.
