Ophélie Bretnacher missing

Our daughter Ophélie disappeared in Budapest 12 days ago. These 12 days have been the hardest of our lives. 12 days of distress which increased because of language barriers and our ignorance of this country which is unfamiliar to us and where communication is difficult for us. We are terribly anxious, but we did not lose hope, we are not going to give up until proof to the contrary is provided to us.

Thanks to the Police, we know that Ophélie was seen for the last time on Roosevelt square at about 3 am and that her handbag was found on the Chain Bridge at about 3.30 am. We take this opportunity to draw attention to the work of the local Police and pay tribute to the teams of the Police of the 2nd district of Budapest which do a remarkable work under the supervision of inspector SERES.

In order to help the Police’s work, our family offers a reward of HUF 2 million to any person who can provide substantial information which helps us to find Ophélie quickly and alive. For that purpose, we set up the phone number +36 706 506 616. We will diffuse this information throughout all of Eastern Europe.

Furthermore, for the same purpose of helping the Police, we ask all travel agencies, all airlines worldwide and the 2 airports of Budapest to help us to distribute the call of the Hungarian Police for witnesses among all travelers who were in Budapest on the days prior to the disappearance of Ophélie. If one of these travelers saw anything which at that moment seemed strange or simply attracted her or his attention at Roosevelt square or Chain Bridge, on the night from the 3rd to the 4th of December, about 3 am, please call the phone number +36 706 506 616.

We express our gratitude to the French government which is strongly supporting us, and also to the Hungarian authorities for their commitment and action. We also ask the authorities in other European countries to get into contact with the French and Hungarian authorities in order to share their means and information so that they will be able to find Ophélie as quickly as possible.

Finally, we are deeply touched by the mobilization of young people, their action and dynamism on facebook, on the Internet and on site in order to help us to find Ophélie. We express our gratitude also to the French and Hungarian press which contributes to this mobilization by reporting on this case, and which has been very decent. >>Please visit regularly the supporting teams on facebook and on the website www.opheliebretnacher.com, which will soon be available to put you into contact with the supporting committees and enable you to take part in their actions.

Thank you on behalf of Ophélie.
