The Socialist MP, László Kapolyi has won HUF several hundred millions net profit by the delay of the Ministry of Economy which has missed to regulate the obligation of paying duties for imported electicity from non-EU countries. This claim of András Deák MP (Fidesz) has been refused by Mr Kapolyi who speaks of a targeted political attack.
Since joining the European Union 1 euro/kilowatt duty should be paid and Mr Kapolyi’s company has imported 400 million megawatt power from the Ukraine. László Kapolyi is 95 pc owner of the company, the rest is the property of an off-shore firm. According to Kapolyi the contract was concluded back in the early ’90-es during the government of the Hungarian Democratic Party and the contract is valid until 2015.
