Ibolya Dávid, chairperson of the Hungarian Democratic Forum delegated her right to vote in her absence to Judit Csiha MP (Hungarian Socialist Party) on the Wednesday session of the standing orders committee of the parliament.
The almost unprecedented move helped the pro-government decision to delay the setting up of a special committee to examine Premier Gyurcsány’s increase of fortune. This parliamentary body confirmed half a year ago the position of Károly Herényi, faction leader of the Hungarian Democratic Forum who had expelled several members from his party’s faction. Dávid’s press officer said the whole issue was just a storm in the teacup as next week a final decision is expected in Premier Gyurcsány’s case.
