EU EGG SURPLUS IN HUNGARY

The surplus of egg production in the European Union finds its way to Hungary.

One of the great chain of foodstores in Hungary has packed 22 000 eggs and sold them here though they were ’slightly aged’. The Hungarian Union of Egg Producers has initiated several times to apply stricter measures in checking the egg market but it occurs frequently that the egg production surplus of the European Union finds its way to Hungary which has only a population of ten million. The imported eggs arrive unmarked and they are stamped in Hungary with a new date but there are no even statistics available about the import of eggs.
