Everyone should pay for health care even if he or she is insured, this has been proposed to be introduced in the year left from this government cycle by Mihály Kökény, former Minister of Health with Jenő Rácz, present Minister of Health. Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has announced recently the need for the introduction of a three-level health insurance.
The first and generally free level would affect urgent cases, maternity and baby health care, and epidemic cases. The second level would be open for the insured patients, while the third ’package’ would cover extra services for additional insurance. The ministers claim the new system could be introduced soon, mainly with the help of using private capital. The ministers urge the Premier to undertake political conflicts because the delay would be even more risky before the election campaign.
