ROMANIA EXPECTS HELP FROM HUNGARY

According to a Romanian press news 250 Hungarian soldiers and pumps of great capacity were expected yesterday in the villages of Ótelek and Jánosföld in Bánát where almost three hundred houses had collapsed because of the flood of the river Temes.

The information was correct only partly as experts from Szeged arrived to assess the situation. At Ótelek which is inhabited by Hungarians the flood of the river has created a 50 km2 lake spreading to Bega river. 80 pc of the houses collapsed but the rest of them are also dangerous. The five thousand inhabitants of four villages have been evacuated to neighbouring villages and to tents.
