The Socialist activists on Tuesday gave ’presents’ of pasta in Városdomb while in Palé they visited the houses with the gifts of the party. The action started last week in Sásd. The supply of pasta had been obtained from the Hungarian Army by Zoltán Páva MP, mayor of Komló and he denied the distribution had any political motivations and the Ministry of Defence said they offered the supply for caritative purposes. The Department of Health Protection in the Ministry of Defence prolonged the guarantee by six months though the head of the consumer protection office said such measure was illegal. József Polics, chairman of the local electoral district (Fidesz) finds the Socialist action scandalous. ’It is shocking to see there are still people who think that poor people can be bought with a dish of food, with canned food, or with a gift pack of pasta over guarantee’, he said.
