According to Ervin Demeter MP (Fidesz) citizens have the right to know without violating state secrets if Hungarian ministers can work safely and whether the affected two ministers had any connections with persons who conveyed information for the Romanian intelligence service. Ervin Demeter in a special briefing reminded of the session of the national security cabinet convened for Friday to examine the case. Mr Demeter has emphasized there is no exact information still about the so-called Mucuska-gate.
It was in fact Premier Gyurcsány who first referred to the spy case during an informal meeting with leading left-wing journalists. Recently another such meeting has been organized where the editors-in-chief of Népszabadság, Népszava, 168 óra and the producer of Nap-kelte, the morning programme of the public television have been present urging a better government communication of the spy scandal.
