Waterworks of Budapest Private Company Limited by Shares is a 140 years old company of strategic significance in charge of the safe operation of water supply to the capital city of Hungary and five towns in its agglomeration, furthermore through subsidiaries managing wastewater operations in three smaller cities/villages.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

1. Management of organisation and business of Waterworks of Budapest in compliance with the Company’s Articles of Association, Syndicate and Management Agreement, Organisational and Operational Rules, as well as the resolutions of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly, with special regard to the public service activity of the Company.
2. Strategic, operative and professional management of the Company and observation of the rules pertaining to the exercise of employer’s rights.
3. Provision for a long-term technical, financial and business stability for the Company.
4. Representation of the Company towards the Proprietors and the consumers as well as third persons, courts and other authorities.
5. Representation of the Company and liaising with the registered interest representations operative at the Company and the Plant Council.
6. Assistance to the activities of the Supervisory Board and the Auditor of the Company in compliance with the effective statutory regulations and the Articles of Association.
7. Preparatory work for the business plan and balance sheet of the Company, as well as reports and proposals required for the decisions of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors, and development and updating of the internal rules and regulations.
8. Provision for the conditions required for the execution of the Company’s strategic objectives, and increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
9. Exploration of the opportunities in connection with increasing market share.
10. Elaboration and execution of the Company’s medium- and long-term plans Shall manage and organize the continuity of the service and takes measures promoting its safety.
11. Shall coordinate the development and operation of the personal incentive system.
12. Shall improve the conditions for work in a planned and continuous manner, shall ensure the conditions for health at work, production and plant safety.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in a relevant special field from a technical or economic university or college (accredited in a Member State of the European Union or the United States);
• At least three years of experience in company management as chief executive officer or deputy chief executive officer;
• Verbal and written proficiency in professional English and/or French and/or German.

• Strategic approach to problems, capacity to overview matters in a national and international perspective, excellent problem solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills, high-standard presentation and negotiation skills
• Outstanding skills in management, organisation and motivation • Highly independent, able to stand high workload and assume responsibility

CONSIDERED AS ADVANTAGES DURING THE EVALUATION OF THE APPLICATIONS:

1. Experience in water management or environment protection.
2. Experience in international companies and/or in an international work environment.
3. Project management skills
4. Other university qualifications and academic degrees

PLACE AND COMMENCEMENT OF WORK

• The registered site of the Company is at: 1134 Budapest, Váci út 23-27, Hungary.
• Expected start of work: candidates are expected to indicate the proposed starting date of their work;
• Term of work: indefinite period of time
• Legal status: labour contract concluded for an indefinite period of time

REMUNERATION

The Tender Committee will inform the three best candidates of the proposed remuneration of the CEO of the Company.
If the offered remuneration is rejected, the submitted application is considered invalid, and excluded from further evaluation.
If the offered remuneration is accepted, the Tender Committee will continue evaluation of the applications in order to make a final decision.

CONTENT OF THE TENDER APPLICATION

Candidates are required to put forward in their tender applications their detailed professional, management, business and customer relations concepts/views related to the “responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer” of the Company, as set forth above.

Candidates are required to enclose the following:
• a detailed professional CV;
• the original or certified copy of qualifications/diplomas;
• clear criminal record issued not earlier than three months before the date of submission.

For the purposes of preparing their applications, candidates will receive the tender documentation including the Company’s Articles of Association, the Organisational and Operational Rules of the Company, the Financial Statements of the Company for 2007, and other auxiliary and technical information concerning the operation of Waterworks of Budapest (headcount, location of the wells and pipelines in Budapest, a technical description of the Company’s area of operation, catchment area etc.) Further information on the Company are available at our website at www.vizmuvek.hu.

MAIN PARAMETERS OF EVALUATION

• the material content and enforceability of the concept, submitted by the candidate in compliance with the section on the Content of the application set out above;
• the well founded nature of the professional/technical concept of the candidate and the results expectable from its completion;
• the professional experience and results, its ability to complete the submitted concept, described in compliance with the section on the Content of the application set out above.

ADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONS

• The tender application must be written in Hungarian or English and submitted in person at the registered seat of Waterworks of Budapest (1134 Budapest, Váci út 23-27), addressed to the Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors and filed to the General Secretariat on the 13th floor of the main building (Tower).
• The application must be submitted in a closed and sealed envelope, with the following indication: “Tender Application for the Position of Chief Executive Officer of Waterworks of Budapest”;
• All pages of the tender application document must be signed by the candidate.

DATE OF SUBMISSION OF TENDER BIDS

Tender applications shall be submitted until 5:00 p.m. on the 15th of November, 2008 at the place specified above.

EVALUATION OF TENDER APPLICATIONS

Applications have been invited by the Investors of Waterworks of Budapest (SUEZ Environnement and RWE Aqua GmbH). Based on the tender applications the Evaluation Committee, comprising four members, will propose a candidate (or alternatively candidates) to the Board of Directors, the Supervisory Board and the General Assembly of the Company to elect. The Chief Executive Officer shall be elected by the General Assembly of the Company upon approval of the relevant committees of the Budapest City Council.

OTHER RELEVANT INFORMATION RELATING TO THE TENDER

• This is international tender application, and will be published in English and Hungarian languages.
• The publisher of the tender holds the right to qualify the tender procedure unsuccessful.
• The applications will be evaluated by the Evaluation Committee until 30 November 2008. Subsequently the candidate will be selected pursuant to the section on the evaluation of applications.
