The prime minister held discussions with Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Peter Szijjarto and the ministry’s top officials before delivering a speech to Hungarian ambassadors and consuls general.
In his speech, PM Orban highlighted the opportunities and major challenges facing Hungarian diplomacy, in light of existing factors such as the new U.S. administration, current developments in the Russia-Ukraine war and the European Union’s continued wartime stance.

Mr Orban highlighted:
Hungary’s international maneuvering room had expanded significantly over the past year.
He then outlined the country's program for key economic and political breakthroughs.
Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto also commented on the event via social media, stating:
Ambassadors gathered. Tasks assigned. 2025 will be the year of political and economic breakthroughs.
