Kálmán Nagy, pastor of the local Reformed Church said the gifts had been denied from children whose younger brother was transferred to the Reformed school started in September. The headmaster of the state school said there were not such motivations.
The Lajos Kossuth Primary School in Kunhegyes received 100 food packages from a foundation for needy children. The parents complained of the discrimination but László Juhász, headmaster categorically refused the charges and said he was not even present when the gifts were distributed. He said twenty families had been left without gifts but even those families had received a lot of help from the school.
