BUILDING MOTORWAYS MORE EXPENSIVE

The result of the tender for building the sections of M7 and M0 motorways was announced yesterday by National Motorway Company (NA RT). In the second round of the public acquisition tender the only foreign firm was a Portuguese one. The contracts will be made early in May and the construction work starts in summer, the new sections will be inaugurated in November 2005 and in November 2006. Between Zamárdi and Balatonszárszó there is a 15 km section to be built for a horrible cost as there is an 1,8 km long valley bridge at Kőröshegy. All will be state investments but contractors can bill their work only next year so the loans and interests increase the expenses significantly.
