’FATELESS’: SHOOTING SUSPENDED

The shooting of Imre Kertész’s film, ’Fateless’ , a Hungarian film of the highest budget for all times, has been delayed by financial problems as there was no decision yesterday about a bridging credit.

As Magyar Nemzet has reported it, the shooting stopped more than two months ago. A week ago Péter Barbalics, producer of the film said there were talks in progress with banks about bridging credits. The Hungarian Motion Picture Public Endowment supports the film with HUF 920 million but it has a special schedule to finance films to check all economic and legal aspects. ’The public endowment does not retain the money but wants to screen the whole process’, said Erzsébet Tóth, general secretary.
