On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the holocaust yesterday the Holocaust Memorial Centre was inaugurated by Ferenc Mádl, President of Hungary and Moshe Kacav, President of Israel, in the presence of Premier Medgyessy. The Memorial Centre is hosted by a synagogue transformed to a museum. János Áder, faction leader of Fidesz proposed a one-minute-silence for today noon to commemorate the victims. Since the year 2000 April 16 is a memorial day of the holocaust in Hungary.
