MONEY IN HALF A METRE HIGH STACKS

The confession of Attila Kulcsár’s driver confirms the suspicion that the strings of the broker scandal lead to upper political circles. Apart from politicians the taxi driver delivered money to the Premier’s friend, too.

Gyula Szekér had given a detailed confession to the police before he became himself a suspect of the fraud case. From his confession it turns out who the persons were for whom he delivered money at the instructions of Attila Kulcsár, Magyar Nemzet has been informed. Gyula Szekér visited several times El Abed Hassan, a Syrian money changer who provided the requested sum in plastic bags.

’There was money on Hassan’s table in half a meter high stacks,’ said the taxi driver. It has turned out that Hasan and his brother took HUF 6,2 billion out of Inter-Európa Bank led earlier by Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy. Gyula Szekér told the police he delivered money for Medgyessy’s friend, Alexandru Mudura in Nagyvárad (Oradea, Romania) and his son, Sándor Mudura. The taxi driver said he delivered money several times to Tamás Forró, ex-journalist who had common businesses with Attila Kulcsár in the art treasure market.

The driver delivered twice HUF 150 million for László Kelemen, former chairman of the supervising committee of the Central Bank and for János Mészáros (not identical with the person affected in the Britton case). Further millions went to László Kodela, former state secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, to Imre Kónya, former Minister of the Interior (Hungarian Democratic Forum), to Imre Karl, former MP of the Socialists, and to Éva Endrényi, lady friend of László Kovács, Foreign Minister. The driver said Attila Kulcsár had visited frequently Dezső Pintér, president of TV 2.

Gyula Szekér also delivered documents frequently to Ferenc Baja in the Ministry of Informatics.
