A company may obtain for twenty-twenty-five years the commercial surface of all street furniture and its total profit if it undertakes the task of changing the image of Budapest, Magyar Nemzet has been informed. There is a great secrecy about the project but the opposition claims the leaders of the capital already know the name of the winner of the tender. András Kupper, opposition faction leader in the metropolitan assembly said the reason of the hurry in the whole process is that after May 1 the tender should be written out as a public acquisition tender while this way the pre-selected winner may have a profit of several million forints. ’Mayor Demszky will brand his face into the capital by this decision’, said Mr Kupper.
