SUGAR MAY BE BY ONE THIRD MORE EXPENSIVE FROM MAY

After the European Union accession consumers can expect a major price rise of sugar.

The sugar factories have already notified the big consumers and the wholesale merchants about the expected measures. The sugar processing factories will use the standard EU price of 632 euros per ton (about HUF 158 000) in spite of the possibility granted by the European Union to suspend the introduction for two months. The 10 pc rise can accumulate to 30 pc in the case of the consumers though some experts do not regard this probable.
