EXAGGERATED PROMISES FOR MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION

In the 2002 election campaign Prime Minister Péter Medgyessy promised 800 km new motorway for the country, consequently in certain constituencies the MPs of the present coalition make similar astonishing promises about infrastructural developments which would not even start until 2006.

The Prime Minister’s Office has sent the Ministry of Economy and Transport a special collection of promises made by MPs and local representatives. The aim of the survey is to know which promises have been kept and which of them are expected to be kept until 2006, the year of the next general elections.
