PLEA AGAINST THE EP LIST OF SOCIALIST

A plea was put in by Bence Rétvári, chairman of the Young Christian Democratic Union at the Supreme Court against the European Parliament list of the Hungarian Socialist Party.

The plea questions the validity of the list as it has on first place László Kovács, chairman of the Socialist Party who has made it clear several times he would not accept the post. The National Election Committee previously stated they could not deal with the problem of validity while the National Election Office in charge of the question is submitted to the Ministry of the Interior, clearly incompatible to decide. Ibolya Dávid, chairwoman of the Hungarian Democratic Forum also leads the list of EP for her party though she has made it also clear she would not go to Brussels.
