WERBER EXAMINED AFTER ELECTIONS

The circumstances of the stay and work permit of Ron Werber, Israeli campaign adviser of the Hungarian Socialist party, are expected to be examined just after the EP elections – says the letter of the Immigration and Citizenship Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior in response to the inquiries of Magyar Nemzet.

As it is known, Róbert Répássy MP (Fidesz) has turned to several state organizations to examine on what grounds Ron Werber was permitted to work in Hungary. Mr Répássy has sent similar letters to the Office of Customs and Excise, to the Office of Employment, and to the National Health Insurance Funds. The latter said they had no authority to collect contributions from aliens. Earlier Sándor Burány, Minister of Labour said Ron Werber was just a tourist who did not do any work and all Israeli citizens were exempt of visa for a 90 day stay. Mr Répássy said Ron Werber had received as a tourist 10 thousand dollars from the Prime Minister’s Office for a study.
