TEACHERS’ ALLOWANCE IN DELAY

Several thousand teachers have not received yet their allowance for the ’0th’ month, said László Varga, secretary of the Trade Union of Teachers to Magyar Nemzet.

The self-governments maintaining 2700 schools have been unable to keep the regulation of the law which rules to pay the allowance until January 16. They will be able to pay this only after accepting their new budget in March and some trade union members consider a lawsuit because in such cases the labour courts almost automatically rule to pay the delayed allowances increased by twice the basic interest rate of the Central Bank.
