GOVERNMENT SAVES MONEY BY REDUCING SALARIES

The Democratic Union of Teachers claims that last year the government took out a month’s salary from the pockets of civil servants.

The cabinet saved HUF 160-180 billion by withholding the so-called 13th month salary from 800 000 employees. The Union says the government delays the promised agreement because it does not want to recognize it has taken out a month’s salary from the pockets of teachers. It is also problematic that the cabinet has ordered the retirement of all civil servants over 65 which threatens the smooth beginning of the academic year in September.
