The tender contains conditions which can be met only by one manufacturer. The official of the tender refutes the allegations. The law enforcement and frontier guard need more than 300 work stations, more than 100 notebooks and a server apart from printers, scanners, security equipments and digital cameras. Experts said to Magyar Nemzet the tender was full of contradictions and special conditions that were impossible to meet.
This is not the first such scandalous informatic tender of the government: last year the Ministry of Informatics led by the Free Democrat Kálmán Kovács bought ’cocoa-safe’ computers for kindergartens for more than one million forints each instead of computers of identical capacities for HUF 400 000. The Ministry of Education had a similar scandalous project called Sulinet Expressz which intended to increase the numbers of computers at home with a state subsidy of HUF 30 billion but most people used this to buy products of electronic entertainment.
