Gabriella Székely, head of the programme production department of the National Media Authority (ORTT) may lose her job following the tender to subsidize campaign films for The Big Book (in England: The Big Read), a series of programmmes made by the Hungarian (public) Television to popularize reading. Only producers favoured by the Hungarian Television have been invited to the consultation about the HUF 450 million tender. Twelve producers could take part in the consultation behind closed doors on June 20 where they were informed how to compete to win. György Kovács, chairman of the Media Authority said Ms Székely would have to leave her post. In the productions to which Ms Székely ’assisted’ one can read the names of Péter Geszti, Tamás Vitray, Jr., Judit Hernádi, and Róbert Alföldi among others.
