According to American experts because of the crisis of the European Union the whole region can witness a currency crisis and the No. 1 target of speculations might be Hungary because its economy is unbalanced and the banking system is less integrated than elsewhere in the region. Zsigmond Járai, president of the Hungarian Central Bank also finds it a real danger that the Hungarian currency would be weakening. In the meantime the monetary council of the Central Bank has reduced the basic interest rate by 25 basic points.
